GHOULISH GIRLS NIGHT OUTINGS IN AZ

BY: KENDALL MILLER

With the Halloween season fastly descending upon us, the scramble for plans has begun. Unfortunately Halloween has become a holiday where it feels like you have to have something to do or else you’re wasting away the haunted season. But fortunately for you, we have concocted a list of the best things to do in anticipation of the upcoming holiday (in the state of Arizona that is). After all, why not grab your friends and take advantage of the Mean Girls motto: “Halloween is the one [time] a year when a girl can dress like a total slut and no other girls can say anything about it”. Have a spicy time!

SPOOKY CINEMA AT SKYSILL ROOFTOP

Similar to the famous Cinespia movies shown at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, the Skysill Rooftop has decided to host spooky movie nights for the month of October. This is a good choice for a chill girls night and a less intimidating movie venue. They’re showing Beetlejuice, Hocus Pocus, Haunted Mansion, and Nightmare Before Christmas. One is shown every weekend and you can grab drinks, popcorn, and more while you enjoy the movie!

THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW

The everlasting Rocky Horror Picture Show has made its way to Phoenix, AZ. The original Magenta, actress Patricia Quinn, will be in attendance, with the opportunity for meet and greets and pictures! There will also be a live shadow cast, a costume contest, and more. And as with any Rocky Horror showing, audience participation is encouraged. This is such a fun way to experience a classic Halloween movie and get a chance to dress up and take pictures. (Always have to think of the Instagram possibilities).

SPICE SCOTTSDALE: CUSTOM HALLOWEEN TANKS & MORE

Come and visit Spice Scottsdale for the ultimate girls day. To aid in your costume search, Spice has created a custom tank top bar for a minimal effort cocktail costume. As shown above, you can choose from drinks like Dirty Martini, Espresso Martini, Aperol Spritz, etc. Not to mention they have a year round custom charm jewelry bar to create whatever pieces your heart desires AND have newly added clothing pieces to spice up your costume. What more could a girl ask for? They’re located at 3217 N. Hayden Road, Scottsdale, AZ!

FOUR PEAKS HAUNTED BREWERY TOURS

The ‘Nightmare on 8th Street’ tour includes a souvenir t-shirt, 32 oz. pitcher of pumpkin porter, and an exclusive tour of the haunted Four Peaks Brewing Co. It takes place in the heart of  Scottsdale and is a great/spooky way to start off a night of drinking around the town. Tickets start at $40 and are going fast so get yours now!

SCHNEPF PUMPKIN FARMS

Schnepf Pumpkin Farms is a more wholesome way to celebrate the season. At the family owned and operated Schnepf Farms, you can find pumpkin patches, mazes, live entertainment, rides, and pretty much anything else you can think of. Whether you go during the day or at night, this is such a cute way to cross a bunch of things off your fall bucket list and it’s not too far from Phoenix! Located in Queen Creek, it's only a bit of a drive but definitely worth it.

*Named one of the best pumpkin patches in Arizona!

BOO AND BREW

Adding to the more wholesome side of things, Boo & Brew located in Scottsdale Quarter is an annual event put on by the city to bring the festivities closer to home.  Only once a year on October 26th, you can experience  the classic pumpkin patches and candy crawls, as well as a variety of craft beers and a live DJ. The best part of all is it’s a free event to attend!

Whatever you choose to do this Halloween season, stay safe, have fun and most importantly add some Spice to your life! ;)
