THE HALLOWEEN EDIT: BUILD-A-BOO BASKET

THE HALLOWEEN EDIT: BUILD-A-BOO BASKET

BY: KENDALL MILLER

Glowing orange and purple, neighborhoods dressed in spider webs and ghoulish decor, brought us the creation of Boo Baskets. Coming to us in the early 2000’s, these baskets were a way of bringing the community together to work toward a common gift-giving game of hot potato, putting a positive spin on the ding-dong ditching epidemic. Gifting Boo Baskets to friends, loved ones, and neighbors alike is the perfect way to spread the joy (and scares) of the Halloween season!

There are so many ways to put together a great Boo Basket, you can make it personalized, generic, or DIY.  I tend to sway in the more personal direction, opting to gift stuff that I know will be both useful and well loved.

When shopping for the basket basics, one good rule of thumb to follow is the ‘Three C’s’, including a candy/snack, something comfy (i.e. blanket, slippers, fuzzy socks, etc.), and something cozy like a candle or incense will never fail you. And don’t forget to include the classic “You’ve Been Booed” sign in your basket as well! To grab spooky finds like these and many more, come shop at Spice Scottsdale!

For my Boo Basket creation below, I have curated a present for the wickedly witchy friend in my life who seeks out all things ghosts,  grisly horror movies, and life guidance written in the stars.
